Cellucor C4 Extreme delivers.
This will be my Cellucor C4 Extreme review, simply breaking down the product and how it all works. Let's get started.
C4 Extreme Key Components
One thing I like about this pre-workout formula is its simplicity. There really isn’t that many ingredients in this formula, but it’s an extremely effective product. Less is always better!
Caffein & Tyrosine - Ok so of course with all stimulated pre-workouts comes a content of caffein. C4 Extreme has 150mg of caffeine, which in comparison to many other pre-workouts these days is average if not on the lower end of the spectrum. Cellucor C4 Extreme is a great pre-workout for first time users, because it’s not overstimulated. Understand though that caffein is responsible for high energy levels, and obtaining great focus and concentration in the gym. Tyrosine also offers great focus and alertness and when combined with caffein the effects are impressive.
Beta Alanine - Dosed at 1500mg which is a generous dose. Beta Alanine is going to delay muscle fatigue. Basically it’s going to allow you to train longer and harder. I personally use Allmax Nutrition Beta Alanine on its own on days I don’t use a C4 Extreme because of its benefits.
L-Arginine - This amino acid acts as a vasodilator. Dilating blood vessels allowing for better blood flow, resulting in massive pumps in the gym. C4 has 1000mg of L-Arginine, this is more then enough needed.
Magnesium Creatine Chelate - Now Cellucor C4 Extreme doesn’t have a high content of creatine. For some users this is a positive, for others maybe not so good. I wanted to touch on this aspect of the formula because for those who are looking for a high content of creatine I would recommend stacking a creatine product with C4 Extreme. I personally think if you are serious about using creatine you should always cycle a creatine product properly and at the correct dosages for the full benefits. The effects will be far greater then relying on the creatine source from a pre-workout because usually the dose is quite low.
Above are the core ingredients, the ones that really matter. There are a few others but nothing worth touching on. So pretty simple profile but extremely effective.
Cellucor C4 Extreme Effectiveness
I recommend taking this product 20-30 minutes prior to training, some may think this is too soon but I personally feel the effects quite quickly. One thing to take note of is that if you have eaten a large meal less then an hour before you take your C4 Extreme or other pre-workout products for that matter the effects will likely be some what diminished. Often the absorption of the product will be reduced.
The first thing you will notice is a great sense of clarity, and this is followed by your ability to stay focused. I call it being in the zone. For myself I take my Cellucor C4 Extreme and instantly leave the house and walk to the gym. Then this clarity and focus come over me as I’m on route, and it allows me to mentally prepare for my workout. For myself this is one of my favourite parts of the day, and it definitely helps get ready to train.
Now, depending on your tolerance to Beta Alanine you may notice you experience some tingling sensations around your body, this is the Beta Alanine going to work. Fear not, this is a good thing. Then ultimately you will start getting amped up. You're going to almost feel the need to exert energy. This is when you know you should be in the gym and ready to go. Having the ability to stay focused and train with intensity alone will allow you to achieve a great pump. But throw in a high dose of L-Arginine and you're going to be extremely pumped up. It's a great feeling. Its the Holy Trinity of lifting weights I tell you.
Cellucor C4 Extreme Flavors & Sizes
Extreme C4 comes in two sizes 60 Servings and 30 Servings. It also comes in 6 great flavors Fruit Punch, Icy Blue Razz, Watermelon, Orange, Pink Lemonade and the newest flavor Strawberry Margarita. I have used ALL of the flavors EXCEPT for the newest Strawberry Margarita. Cellucor C4 Extreme has a very mild flavor, its very easy to drink. You can legitimately sip on C4, where as many other pre-workouts your choking it down as fast as you can. Not the case with C4 Extreme. Well there you have it ladies and gents.
