    WHAT MAKES ACTIVE WOMAN DIFFERENT? Many multi-vitamin products appear to have more nutrients than Active Woman, but what they have chosen to do is to add insignificant amounts of many different ingredients in order to make it appear that they have more to offer. With Active Woman we have added clinically significant amounts of all the nutrients listed. So for example, we add 100mg of Rhodiola extract, enough to reduce stress and support adrenal health, rather than adding 20mg of 5 other elements, at amounts that do not accomplish anything nutritionally, but only serve marketing purposes.

     

     

    WHAT DOES ACTIVE WOMAN™ DO? Active Woman™ is made from the highest quality ingredients and is formulated to contain proper ratios of vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients to energize, provide relief from stress, protect against organ degeneration, and aid in the prevention of chronic disease.

    This gender-focused formula contains many key vitamins and minerals to support:

      

    BONES & TEETH: Calcium will help protect bones and teeth from deterioration but without certain co-factors it won’t do any rebuilding. ACTIVE WOMAN includes these co-factors that will channel calcium into the skeletal structure, actually strengthening and rebuilding it. The bone-building co-factors are Boron, Silica, Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2.  Too much calcium is now known to be dangerous so ACTIVE WOMAN has a safe amount of calcium with extra magnesium, in the ideal one-to-one ratio. It includes the nutritional co-factors that will channel calcium into the skeletal structure actually strengthening and rebuilding it.

     

    BREAST HEALTH: Certain nutrients protect breast health, helping to prevent cancer and fibrocystic breast disease. They are Iodine, Vitamin E and Selenium. HEART AND CIRCULATION: Three of the B vitamins (Vitamins B-6, B-12 and Folic Acid) work together to prevent homocysteine levels from building in the body, which in turn stops cholesterol from trapping in the arteries. Other supportive nutrients help to keep the heart muscle strong, and to prevent hardening of the arteries. They include Vitamins C, E, and K2, and the minerals Magnesium and Silica.

     

    IMMUNE FUNCTION: The wide range of anti-oxidants found in ACTIVE WOMAN all serve in part to support the immune system, either by fighting free radical damage or raising glutathione levels. Glutathione prevents free radical damage in the body and helps with detoxification. The immune-supportive nutrients include: Natural Beta Carotene (most multi-vits use synthetic Beta Carotene which is of no value), Vitamins C, D, and E, and the minerals Magnesium, Selenium, and Zinc.

     

    BLOOD SUGAR REGULATION: Keeping our blood sugar stable, also keeps our energy levels stable throughout the day, helps to prevent diabetes, and stops carbs from being stored as fat in the body. ACTIVE WOMAN uses a clinically-proven, effective amount of the trace mineral Chromium, in the Polynicotinate form.

     

    HEALTHY REPODUCTIVE SYSTEM: The body requires specific nutrients to maintain fertility, and a healthy hormonal balance, to help prevent symptoms of PMS and Menopause. These include: Boron, Folic Acid, Vitamin E, Iodine, Magnesium, and Zinc.

ACTIVE WOMAN offers a therapeutic dose of the adaptogenic herb Rhodiola, clinically proven to reduce the stress response, and to support the adrenal glands. Other nutrients present that help protect against stress include Vitamin C and Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B-5).

     

    VISION AND EYE HEALTH: The anti-oxidants known as ACES are especially powerful protectors of eye health, and have been shown to help protect against cataracts and macular degeneration. The ACES include Vitamin A (with Natural Beta Carotene), Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Selenium.

     

    OVERALL HEALTH:  -Iron is provided at the full daily requirement for menstruating women (18mg elemental iron). If you are in, or past, menopause, you should consult with a physician to determine if you should take iron or not. -Vitamin D is now known to be one of the most important nutrients to take to prevent a wide range of ailments, including cancer. In the Northern Hemisphere there are only 4 months of the year when we can get adequate vitamin D from the sun; and that is if we sunbath in it. -Vitamin B Complex is provided in ACTIVE WOMAN at therapeutic levels, to serve a range of physical and mental needs, with extra vitamin B-6 to help with PMS symptoms including water retention. There is no need to take an additional B-complex over and above this product.

     

    DO YOU NEED ANYTHING ELSE, OVER AND ABOVE YOUR ACTIVE WOMEN MULTIVITAMIN? The law in Canada restricts us to putting only 1000IU of vitamin D in the daily serving. Most natural health professionals now suggest that we take 3 to 5,000IU of vitamin D daily (skipping weekends), for optimal benefit to health, mood and immunity. As well, for a highly stressful lifestyle, or for those with compromised immune systems, it would be good to take additional vitamin C, two more times daily. While the amount of vitamin C in a ACTIVE WOMAN is sufficient to create a glutathione spike (immune supportive antioxidant), taking an additional vitamin C pill once or twice later in the day, will offer more immune support and well as supporting the adrenal glands against stress.
