Branch Chain Amino Acids (Leucine, Isoleucine & Valine) are 3 essential amino acids which must be ingested though food or supplementation because the body is unable to produce them on its own.
When most amino acids are ingested they are absorbed by the intestines and shuttled to the liver to be distributed throughout the body. The liver decides whether the amino acids will be used as fuel to continue energy output or to be used to repair muscle and other tissue. BCAA's on the other hand are usually spared by the liver and transported directly to muscle fibers due to their potent effect on these fibers.
Supplementation with BCAA's directly stimulates muscle protein synthesis, reduces muscle soreness, promotes recovery, minimizes fatigue, and improves muscular endurance. BCAA supplementation may also increase fat burning and promote lean mass growth.
Mix 1 scoop (5g) with 180ml-240ml of water, juice or your other favourite beverage and sip throughout your workout. Also recommended to take 1 scoop on off days as well.
